Hey, I’m Georgie
Welcome to my website.
My passion for butchery originally came from growing up on our farm and hunting with my Dad from a young age.
I have been taught by numerous butchers with different styles and I have taken knowledge from all of them to build my business and offer my own unique style of butchery, cuts & flavours.
I love teaching people with the same passion for food and meat as I do and I offer a range of Master Classes at my butchery in Golden Bay and beyond.
Why Butchery?
Towards the end of High School when I was thinking of options for further education/career paths, I discussed a lot of ideas with various friends & family. It was my Dad who suggested that since I loved hunting I might like to look into butchery.
This led to a Gateway program in the local supermarket butchery. There wasn’t room for me to start an apprenticeship with them so I looked around Nelson where Phillipe’s Butchery & Deli took me on. I worked one on one there and learnt a lot.
I was very inspired once I qualified and as it’s such a passion of mine I love every minute of having my own business.
So that’s why you will often find me standing on the side of a trailer, deconstructing huge beasts!

What’s a Dual Butcher?
This means that I am Certified to process regulated meat (sourced from a registered abattoir), homekill meat (animals slaughtered on farm) & wild game (hunted animals).
As a butcher I believe it is important to work from paddock to plate, so I come on farm and slaughter and process the animal for you.
This is important to me so the animals are treated humanely and are under no stress.
I’m a Hunter
In my spare time, I love to go hunting & fishing.
The New Zealand bush is my happy place, and I’m even happier if I bring an animal home with me. I love to be able to hunt & gather food to feed myself, my friends and family.
Food and the culture of coming together to eat is special, and a time I look forward to, catching up with everyone and sharing stories from the hunt or the day and of course the love of food, together.
I’ve made some great memories and learnt some awesome survival skills out hunting.
It’s humbling and it grounds me.
